John Edwards announced his backing of Barack Obama today, adding to a growing list of endorsement and superdelegate wins for Obama in the past few days.
The announcement comes after Obama’s loss in West Virginia on Tuesday. Interestingly, John Edwards was actually on the ballot in West Virginia and came out with 7% of the vote, a sizeable amount for a candidate that dropped out of the race prior to Super Tuesday. The Obama campaign hopes that Edwards will bring in support in Hillary Clinton’s stronghold demographic - white, working class voters.
